Karauli has been the victory ground for several brave kings fighting in the battlefield. Apart from the history of this place, you can better see architectural designs built by Karauli stones which are pale red in colour in which several palaces and temples dwell. Even though the city is not really big, it's a place with picturesque views with which it offers a rural and an urban tranquillity to its visitors. One can also find a true echoing old culture of ancient Rajasthan.
The temple of Sri madan mohanji is dedicated to the child form of lord Krishna inside which a cute golden idol of Krishna's bal roop placed. The temple is located on the banks of Bhadravati river, tributary to the Banas river, all constructed with Karauli stones which is of great value for mediaeval period architectural design.
