Hampi was the capital of the mediaeval Hindu kingdom of Vijayanagara Empire. Situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra river, the city is now known as Hampi (derived from Pampa) and now remains only in the form of ruins. Seeing these, it seems that a prosperous civilization must have lived here at some point. Located in the Indian state of Karnataka, this city has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Vitthal temple
One of Hampi's best temples, i.e. Vijayanagara Empire is Vitthal Swami's temple. Vittalaswami Temple is a temple of Lord Vishnu. It occupies a unique place among the temples of Hampi. It is situated on a hill in the northeast, a little far from the rest of the monuments of Hampi. On the way to the temple there is a check post on the road, it is made of 16th century only.

Achyutaraya temple
Originally named as Tiruvengalanatha named and constructed by Achyuta Deva Raya in tribute to  Lord Venkateshwara.  This is last symbol of Vijayanagara  royal architecture. The central attraction of the temple is two rectangular concentric structure on the starting edge. This temple has victimised by natural changes but still grandly representing his king.  this located in between Matanga hills and Gandhamadana.

Sri Virupaksha temple
Lord Shiva is honoured at the Virupaksha Temple in Hampi. This temple was built with the help of Lakkana Dandesha, a commander under King Deva Raya II.Pampa and Virupaksha devotional groups are linked to this grand temple.
