Sringeri stands for great importance for Adi Shankara devotees as here Shri Adi shankara decide to establish their mutts and declared it's capital as they found it peaceful and  full of serenity along with the vibes of enchanting spiritual energy and summonical aura. Erected on the banks of the Tunga River, Sringeri Mutt is a rustic ancient temple with a lot of history attached to it. With a vibrant history and great religious significance attached to this iconic temple, the atmosphere of the temple brims with power, and at the same time, it emanates tranquillity and peace.

Vidyashankara temple
This pilgrimage site was built in 1338 AD by a sage named 'Vidyaranya', the patron of the founders of the Vijayanagara Empire and lived here in the 14th century. The temple reflects the Dravidian, Chalukya, South Indian, and Vijayanagara architectural styles. Tourists can see several inscriptions here, which show the contribution of the Vijayanagara Empire.[1]

Shreengeri sharda amma peeth
Sharda Devi is the presiding deity of Sringeri. It is said that when Adishankar came back after spending some time in Kashmir, he brought Sharda Devi with him from there to Sringeri. The original Sharda Peeth of Kashmir is now in Pakistan-occupied territory.
