Partway 70 kms from Bhuj, this pious temple is located in the premises of the Matanamadh, which is known as the shrine of mata Annapurna devi.
This temple is considerably dedicated to kutchies, as per the culture of their kuldevi deity.
In the same campus of Matanamadh, there is located- Vaishno Devi temple which preaches the extrinsically old and beautifully carved structure with a peaceful ambience.
Also according to the Hindu scriptures, it's believed that one of the 52 shaktipeethas of mata Parvati, is located here.
Known with another name as kotilingeshwara temple, dedicated to one of the bhairav avatars of lord Shiva. It's one of the most visited and renowned ancient Shiva temples. Koteshwar mahadev is called bhairava of Hinglaj mata. It's believed that after visiting the residences of hinglaj mataji, devotees should perform rituals of parikrama to offer their devotion to koteshwar mahadev.
The meaning of koteshwar comes from the Sanskrit word which means ten million gods. The shivling situated here is considered highly powerful and lively.
There are more than a thousands of identical Shivalingas located, but no one has given specific explanations to which one is the real Shivalinga.
There actually exists a story behind this place - according to Hindu scriptures, the most powerful Linga was won by Ravana, for displaying his devotion towards lord Shiva. The shivling, by fault, fell from his hands to the ground and shifted to more than a thousand Lingas. This was the punishment for Ravana, hence he couldn't identify the real shivling and took on it in a hurry with himself. But the original one is still located here which has been worshipped since ages.
