Somnath means the land of som or moon God which is better known for its Triveni Sangam that is another word for the confluence of three rivers - Kapila, Hiran, Saraswati. Located on the banks of this confluence, Somnath has a great importance realted to historical, cultural and ancestral values, as it's an ancient pilgrimage site of the Hindu religion.
