The city of Mathura is located in the Uttar Pradesh region of India. It lies around 50 kilometres (31 miles) north of Agra, 145 kilometres (90 miles) south of Delhi, 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) from Vrindavan, and 22 kilometres (14 miles) from Govardhan. It serves as the district's administrative hub in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. According to the Indian census from 2011, Mathura had a population of 25,47,000 people. Hindu scriptures claim that Mathura, also known as Shri Krishna Janma-Bhoomi, or simply "Lord Krishna's birthplace," is where Lord Krishna was born. The fabled birthplace of Krishna is where the Keshav Dev Temple was originally constructed in antiquity (an underground prison). According to the Mahabharata and Bhagavata Purana epics, Mathura served as the seat of government for the Surasena Kingdom, which was headed by Shri Krishna's maternal uncle Kansa.

Swami Haridas , one of the famous saint of Nimbarka Sampradaya founded the diety Banke Bihari in the 16 century. The temple was built in 1864, since then Banke Bihari is worshipped here. In this temple no bells is present and also no Mangala Aarti is performed as Swami Haridas did not want to disturb the Lord in early morning since he considered Lord as a child.
Baldev Dauji Temple is situated at 18 km south- east of city Mathura. This temple is dedicated to the Lord Balarama who is the elder brother of Lord Krishna. Lord Baldev Dauji is also known as Lord Balram.
This temple was built in 1535AD by Vajranabha and is one of the oldest temples in India. The idol of the deity is about 7 feet tall. Apart from the idol of main deity there is also present the idol of his wife Revati. Near the temple there is present a ‘Kshir Sagar Kund’. Every year lots of pilgrims come to visit this holy site.
Dwarkadheesh Temple, Mathura is a place famous for the Lord Krishna Temples as this is the place where Lord Krishna was born. Dwarkadheesh is a one of the famous temples of Lord Krishna situated in Mathura, U.P. Lord Krishna and Radharani are worshipped here. Idols of other deities are also present in this temple. This temple was built in 1814 by Seth Gokul Das Parikh who was a great devotee of Lord Krishna.
